Several municipalities across the United States are offering up building lots for free.
If you’ve ever dreamt of small town living, Claremont Minnesota could be the place for you. The town of Claremont, located approximately 30 miles from Rochester in south-eastern Minnesota, is giving away residential building lots for free. After the housing market crash in 2006, Claremont was left with 14 empty lots after a developer abandoned plans to develop the parcel. After being unable to sell the lots, the town decided to give the lots away for free. Claremont, which has seen a decline in population in recent years, is hoping this initiative will attract new residents.
