Communication plays a vital role in any relationship to maintain harmony. This holds especially true in the workplace. Amid everything happening around, leaders should ensure that everyone is on the same page. With proper workplace communication, employees are informed and engaged, and organizations can achieve their goals.
On most nights when I get home from work, I have a pretty consistent routine. I’ll work online for a couple hours while I have a little snack and then it’s off to prepare dinner, or grab a quick bite to eat. Once in a while, my fiancee will even cook dinner for me! But after that, I sit down in front of the TV and put on one of my favorite shows: The Office. It’s kind of sad but that show is one of the only ones I can watch over and over without it ever getting old.
One of my favorite characters is the boss, Michael Scott. The show is actually based around his lunacy and idiocracy when it comes to managing an office and he excels in these departments. He’s also best known for coining one of my favorite phrases: “That’s what she said.” But every time I see Michael in action, his managerial skills actually remind me of how poor most managers are at their jobs in real life.
