While we are still in the first quarter of the year we can look for better ways to work less and making more this year. How do you prioritize this on your entrepreneur journey? Here are a few tips on making that shift from few hours to greater income.
Your Worth
As entrepreneurs, many want to have a growth mindset rather than a scarcity mindset. This mindset says there is plenty in the world for us to have. Everyone can be successful because there is always enough. Now, this doesn’t mean what you want comes without any effort. Rather, it is the idea that you can work toward creating the life you want because there isn’t a limit to what is available in the world.
When you are looking for work, what is your perspective on what you have to offer others? Do you believe you fill an important need in your niche? Do you come with “a cup that is full”? Kary Oberbrunner is a fabulous thinking in the entrepreneur world. He believes in the power of the growth mindset. He believes in bringing your value to the table. There are various ways you can add value to someone’s business. Don’t under estimate what your value or worth is them.
Prioritize Your Goals
What are your short and long term goals? How are you wanting to cut back on the time you work? How are you adding value to your expertise? Are you currently under paid?
These questions are great places to start when you’re setting goals for the short and long term. If you are currently underpaid, you should really look and see how you can change that right away. You could raise your fees for future clients. Even if that is a considerable difference from you’re charging your present clients, it’s okay. Even with your current clients it’s a good idea to increase your fees over time. Keep in mind if you’re self employed the tax burden you have compared to having a W2 job. Compensate for your tax burden where you can.
It’s okay for you want to have time freedom and financial freedom! If you’re needing resources on how to accomplish this, check out this book.
Time is Money
Don’t forget your worth. Where are you going to invest your time? You only get so much time, where are you going to use it so it pays you dividends? Are you believing in yourself enough to continue to learn? Become the expert in your niche, whatever that may be. How can you stand out against other people in your niche? What do you have that others don’t? Invest in become that expert!
Conclusion
The year is still young, you have time to make goals and meet them throughout the year. How are you going to spend your time to make the most money you can? What are your priorities and how can you make that work for you in your work time? Become the expert in your niche so you can capitalize on that.
