Sharing celebrations together can be a wonderful aspect of life in an office, or any kind of company. Why not do things in style this year by trying out some of these imaginative ways to wish your employees a happy birthday?
Get the whole company involved
Getting everyone to sign a card and bring in cakes so that you can all show an employee that they care is a great thing to do. Make things more imaginative by inviting the person whose birthday it is to a ‘meeting’ – which is then revealed to be a surprise party. An event like this can really bring everyone on your staff together, and it is a really fun thing to plan as well.
Give them a birthday card in an imaginative way
Everyone likes a pleasant surprise, and if your employee is someone who you know doesn’t mind a little joking around then this could be the idea for you. Take an A4 envelope and put their birthday card inside it. You could even put a present inside as there are lots of great gifts that fit inside A4 envelopes such as vouchers for spa sessions or shops that you know your employee loves. Then, tell them that the envelope contains an important report that you need them to read right away. Once they open it, they will get a fantastic surprise – rather than the boring report that they thought they were going to be working on, they will reveal a card filled with touching wishes from their colleagues and perhaps a gift or two as well.
Decorate their desk
If you know what time your employee usually comes in to work, you can give them a lovely birthday surprise by decorating their desk with cards, a happy birthdy banner, cupcakes and gifts galore. Another thing that you can do is to change the screensaver on their computer so that is says Happy Birthday!
Make an official birthday announcement
If you have a tannoy or other speaker system in place in your company, you can use it to make an ‘official’ birthday announcement to the employee whose special day it is. Take some time to write out the perfect message so that it conveys all that you want it to say. Then, use your tannoy powers to distribute the message far and wide. It can sound very amusing if you deliver the message in the same official voice that you use for disseminating the usual everyday messages to people in your company.
Which of these fun ideas will you try?
You are sure to have plenty of employees’ birthdays on the horizon. So, the only question that remains is: which of these imaginative ideas for wishing your employees a happy birthday are you going to try first? No need to pull the same trick every time – keep people on their toes!
