How you spend your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. Unfortunately, creating a functional morning routine that lets you get your day off to a great start can be difficult for busy professionals. Keep reading to learn a few simple but effective ways to improve your morning routine ahead of a day of hard work at Haines.
1.Stay Consistent
The key to starting off your weekdays free from stress is to create and maintain a consistent routine each morning. Doing the same thing every day might sound monotonous, but in terms of creating a simple and stress-free morning routine, doing so can help to add some structure to your life that can help you maintain peace of mind throughout the day. Try waking up at the same time each weekday, and maintaining a fairly structured routine (i.e., going to the gym, journaling, eating breakfast, etc., at the same time each morning).
2.Give Yourself Extra Time
While waking up extra early might not sound like something that will make your morning better, the truth is that doing so can reduce any stress associated with running late, and will allow your mornings to be more peaceful. Try setting your alarm for 30 minutes to an hour earlier, and you will be surprised at how much easier and more enjoyable your morning routine will be!
3. Get Moving
If working out is not already a major part of your morning routine, it should be! Whether you hit the gym for a difficult workout or just take a walk or jog around your neighborhood, taking the time to move your body will not only help you to wake up faster in the early morning but will release serotonin and act as a natural mood booster and stress reliever that will set you up for success throughout the rest of your workday. Plus, exercising early in the morning will give you more time at work that would otherwise be spent in the gym.
4. Clear Your Head
Leave feelings of stress or anxiety at home and put yourself in a clear headspace before a long day of work by clearing your mind before work. Whether you journal, meditate, or simply call a loved one to vent about life and decompress, taking the time to relieve stress and regulate your emotions is the key to starting your day on the right foot.
